Exploring the Inner Landscape of Creativity

Exploring the Inner Landscape are the words I use to express my self creatively and visually.  My goal as a creative being is to bring light to everyone with whom I come in  contact and to support others on their own journey of self discovery with my art and writings. My images come from dreams, visions, and interpretations’ of experiences I have had or read about. My ceramics and Jewelry are further extensions of that source.   They come from my love of nature, meditations and contemplations that ask; who am I, why am I here and what is my life’s purpose? It is my greatest wish that as you take the time to look at my images you will begin to get a sense of the inner light of which I am trying to create, and through some of the essays on this site, discover your own inner landscapes to explore.

My passion for the act of creativity began as a child lying on my back looking at the night sky and imagining I was expanding into the infinite space of the universe. Completely unaware of what that experience was about I could lie like that for hours and imagine all kinds of beautiful and interesting worlds. Making art didn’t happen until much later when I discovered how important it is to be creative. I found I could best express myself through ceramic sculpture and drawing and now working with metal  I find that by drawing on black paper with Prismacolor pencils I am able to build layers of color that result in images full of light. While many artists use this technique, I find this is a perfect vehicle to tell my visual stories and show that ultimately everything and everyone is from the light. Art making for me involves going within and constantly touching the universal space I first discovered as a child.
